About The Position

Our client is building an AI-native intelligence platform for the investment industry. The platform transforms fragmented financial information—including investment memos, PDFs, emails, spreadsheets, and structured datasets—into a unified knowledge engine that helps investment professionals research opportunities, analyze information, and make better decisions. It integrates with tools investment teams already use and makes institutional knowledge searchable, traceable, and accessible through AI-powered workflows. The Full Stack Software Engineer will help build the platform from the ground up, working across frontend applications, backend systems, data pipelines, and production AI workflows. The role includes creating interfaces for investors, building pipelines that transform complex documents into structured and searchable knowledge, and developing integrations and AI-powered capabilities. Engineers work directly with customers to understand their problems and ship product improvements quickly. As one of the company’s first 20 engineers, this person can help shape the architecture, product experience, and engineering culture. The position is full-time and located in NYC or SF.

Requirements

Strong full-stack software engineering experience building production applications.
Experience with React, TypeScript, Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.
Experience designing backend APIs, data models, and scalable application architectures.
Ability to build intuitive, customer-facing applications with strong product judgment.
Experience developing data pipelines or working with complex structured and unstructured data.
Interest in building production AI applications using LLMs, retrieval systems, or agentic workflows.
Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, system design, and reliability.
Ability to independently own technical problems from initial requirements through production.
Comfort working directly with customers and translating feedback into product improvements.
High ownership, strong technical curiosity, and enthusiasm for working in an early-stage startup.

Nice To Haves

Experience building AI-native applications, RAG systems, or LLM-powered products.
Experience with document processing, data ingestion, search, or knowledge management platforms.
Experience building AI evaluation frameworks or measuring LLM reliability.
Experience integrating products with ChatGPT, Claude, Excel, or other enterprise tools.
Background in fintech, financial services, investment management, or financial data platforms.
Experience building applications that handle sensitive customer information.
Previous experience as a founding engineer or early employee at a startup.

Responsibilities

Design and build intuitive user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
Develop backend services and APIs using Python, Node.js, and modern application frameworks.
Build document ingestion pipelines for PDFs, emails, spreadsheets, and structured financial data.
Design data models and APIs that organize complex information into a unified knowledge platform.
Build integrations with ChatGPT, Claude, Excel, and other enterprise applications.
Develop AI-powered search, research, and agentic workflows.
Build evaluation frameworks to measure and improve LLM accuracy, reliability, and performance.
Create interfaces that let users trace AI-generated answers back to original source documents.
Work directly with customers to understand workflows and rapidly ship product improvements.
Maintain strong security, privacy, and system reliability when handling sensitive financial information.
Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through deployment and iteration.
