Full-Stack Software Engineer (Top Secret clearance)

STR•Arlington, MA
•$140,000 - $190,000•Hybrid

About The Position

STR is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer to design and deliver high-impact web applications for defense and intelligence missions. The role focuses on AI- and data-centric applications that help users analyze information, make decisions, and work effectively with advanced software systems. These are mission-focused applications for operational and analytical use, rather than corporate or marketing websites. The role is open to experienced developers through technical leads and is not entry-level. The engineer will contribute to a new development effort from design through implementation and demonstration. The role is hybrid, with a target of two days in either the Woburn, Massachusetts, or Arlington, Virginia, office. The position covers front-end development and user experience, back-end services and integration, and collaborative delivery. The engineer will build responsive React applications and reusable components; translate design direction into production interfaces; collaborate with designers, stakeholders, users, and clients to define requirements and refine workflows; implement APIs and supporting services; contribute to architecture and integration decisions; and help develop AI-enabled interfaces, data visualizations, and complex mission workflows. The engineer will also improve application performance, accessibility, and maintainability; support demonstrations and user-feedback cycles; help transition prototypes to deployed capabilities; and contribute to technical documentation and user training guides. STR is a technology company focused on advanced research and development for defense, intelligence, and national security, including cyber, next-generation sensors and communications, electronic warfare, and artificial intelligence. It describes its workplace as a collaborative learning environment that recognizes team members’ contributions and achievements.
