About The Position

LMI is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join its app team and build a secure, scalable platform for military and government users. The role spans frontend development, backend services, API development, and database architecture, with a focus on hands-on coding and software design. The engineer will work closely with product owners, designers, fellow engineers, DevSecOps, and field teams to rapidly deliver features, improve performance, and support deployment requirements. An active Secret security clearance is required.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in full-stack software development.
• Experience using AI-enabled development tools to rapidly ship software.
• Strong frontend skills, including React component design, hooks, modern frontend patterns, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
• Strong backend skills with Express.js and hands-on experience using Prisma ORM and relational databases.
• Solid understanding of SQL, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience with testing tools across the stack, such as Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or Cypress, and experience incorporating automated validation and end-to-end testing into delivery.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices and CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab.
• Comfort working with Agile or Lean practices, rapid delivery cycles, and direct user feedback loops.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on work in secure government environments, such as DoD, IL5+, or FedRAMP.
• Experience building geospatial applications.
• Certifications such as Security+ or AWS Developer/Architect.
• Past experience at a startup or in rapid-growth teams.

Responsibilities

• Write quality software, participate in code reviews, and help develop best practices and documentation.
• Support full-stack systems design decisions involving API architecture, data models, and UI component structure.
• Develop guardrails, validation layers, end-to-end tests, and supporting systems for safe and reliable AI-assisted software development.
• Build intuitive, responsive frontend experiences using React and modern component libraries, translating requirements into clean, reusable UI components.
• Write clean, secure backend services using Express.js, focusing on REST APIs, modular design, and Prisma ORM.
• Collaborate with design, product, DevSecOps, and field teams to launch features quickly and securely.
• Write and review unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to support automated testing and code quality gates.
• Troubleshoot bugs, address performance bottlenecks, and build for IL6 deployment requirements.
