About The Position

Join a mission-driven team supporting a mature web-based platform that integrates publicly available information sources into an analytical tool used by hundreds of mission customers. The engineer will work on a small team within a larger development organization, contributing across the stack to data ingestion pipelines, scalable REST APIs, and user-facing visualizations. The platform supports large-scale ingestion, complex queries, and interactive analysis, requiring close collaboration with other project teams to ensure end-to-end functionality and performance. The role involves evolving a mature software system through code quality, testing, documentation, and Jira ticket management, while designing and implementing data-processing workflows. The engineer will use established design patterns and AI platforms to support code development, data transformation, and schema management, and will contribute to the data lifecycle from collection and processing through storage and presentation to analysts. The position also includes optimizing data storage, retrieval, and performance, supporting team process improvements, and providing mentorship in data processing and software engineering practices. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. It is based in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.
