About The Position

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer at the AVP level to design, develop, and implement secure, scalable, and AI-enabled digital solutions across customer-, employee-, and partner-facing platforms. The role focuses on modern application development, cloud technologies, digital experiences, and AI-powered solutions in a regulated financial services environment. The selected colleague works at an MUFG office or client site four days per week and remotely one day per week.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise applications.
• Strong experience with React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, REST APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, containerization, and automated testing.
• Experience within Banking, Payments, Digital Channels, Customer Onboarding, CIAM, or Financial Services.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, data privacy, accessibility, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in UI/UX Engineering, Digital Experience, or Front-End Architecture, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale applications.
• Experience developing customer-facing digital platforms and modern web applications.
• Experience with design systems, reusable UI components, and responsive design.
• Understanding of digital banking ecosystems, payment solutions, and identity management platforms.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI, GPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar AI platforms.
• Knowledge of AI copilots, conversational AI, intelligent search, RAG, semantic search, and prompt engineering.
• Experience building AI-powered user experiences and workflow automation solutions.
• Understanding of Responsible AI, AI governance, security, privacy, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise applications and digital platforms.
• Build modern user experiences using React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Develop APIs, microservices, and full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js.
• Modernize legacy applications into cloud-native, API-first solutions.
• Design and implement solutions using Azure or AWS, Kubernetes, containers, and event-driven architecture.
• Develop and integrate relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and secure coding practices.
• Ensure solutions meet security, accessibility, privacy, risk, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, Risk, and Business teams to deliver technology solutions.
