About The Position

Cronos Europa is seeking medior- or senior-level Full-Stack Java Developers to contribute to long-term software development projects for an international client. The role involves building and maintaining reliable, scalable enterprise applications across the software development lifecycle, using Java and Spring Boot on the backend and Angular or React on the frontend. Developers will work with REST APIs, integrations, microservices, distributed systems, databases, testing, and CI/CD, while collaborating with an international team.

The position is available under onshore and nearshore working arrangements. Onshore candidates must be based in Belgium and authorized to work there; work is hybrid, with approximately 50% on-site presence in Brussels. Nearshore candidates must be based in Europe; work is primarily remote, with approximately 30 working days per year on-site in Brussels, typically arranged as five consecutive days every two months. The stated on-site requirements are mandatory. Permanent employment or B2B/freelance arrangements may be considered, depending on location and available employment structures.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Java.
• Professional Java experience; Java 17 or higher is preferred.
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate, and microservices.
• Professional experience in frontend development with Angular or React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks.
• Understanding of modern software architecture, design patterns, and clean-code principles.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Proven experience in both backend and frontend development and in developing and maintaining complex enterprise applications.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within an international development team.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to code quality.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Proactive attitude, ownership, and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• For onshore work, candidates must be based in Belgium and have valid authorization to work in Belgium.
• For nearshore work, candidates must be based in Europe.
• Must meet the applicable mandatory on-site requirements for the selected working arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop modern, responsive frontend applications using Angular or React.
