About The Position

As a Full Stack Engineer in the healthcare space, you will architect mission-critical applications used by clinicians and patients, developing polished interfaces and high-performance backends to improve care delivery. The role provides technical leadership for major full-stack features and complex services with cross-team or cross-product impact. You will make technical decisions and guide architecture, design, and implementation through expertise rather than formal authority. The position requires building scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise standards. It combines front-end and back-end development, integrations and data modeling, cloud-native engineering, and CI/CD practices. You will also use AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, code quality, and documentation while exercising sound engineering judgment. This is a hybrid role. Most teams work from the office two days per week; employees living more than 50 miles from an office location will coordinate in-office expectations with their manager based on business needs. The company may require additional office presence as business needs change. The role is based in an office and work-from-home/deskwork environment, with a sedentary activity level for most of the workday.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in full-stack development.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent IT experience.

  • Experience building backend services and APIs using .NET, Java, Node.js, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle and/or NoSQL databases, and RESTful integrations.
  • Experience developing cloud-native applications.
  • Experience with containerization, such as Docker.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code to provision and manage cloud resources.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools in professional software development.
  • End-to-end ownership mindset, considering UI, logic, and data as a cohesive system.
  • Engineering pragmatism, balancing architecture with delivery speed and business value.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools effectively while maintaining strong engineering judgment.
  • Ability to operate in dynamic, evolving environments with shifting priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Azure cloud experience is preferred; AWS or GCP experience is acceptable.
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare is preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards or enterprise healthcare platforms such as Epic is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of major full-stack features or services with cross-team or cross-product impact, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with enterprise standards.

  • Develop secure, testable, and maintainable code aligned with modern architectural patterns.
  • Implement system integrations and manage reliable data models for distributed components.
  • Ensure applications are cloud-ready and compatible with established CI/CD workflows.
  • Own technical decision-making for complex initiatives, evaluating trade-offs involving performance, scalability, security, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Use AI tools to enhance productivity, code quality, and documentation while critically evaluating their outputs.
  • Serve as a technical leader for delivery teams, influencing architecture, design, and implementation decisions through expertise rather than formal authority.
  • Collaborate effectively with product, design, QA, security, and platform teams.
