Full Stack Engineer (Europe)

Kalepa is building AI that can perform professional work in the insurance industry, such as underwriting, claims, pricing, operations, and distribution. Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems
- Experience with a modern frontend framework, preferably React
- Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, and comfort in Python (open to strong candidates from other OO backgrounds)
- Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem solving
- Comfort with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
- Experience with cloud environments, serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), and asynchronous workflows

Responsibilities
- Solve interesting problems at the intersection of large and performant data pipelines, distributed systems, machine learning models, and robust infrastructure.
- Collaborate with a global team of full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers, working together to build scalable and reliable backend solutions.
- Take ownership of your work and drive projects to completion with limited oversight.
- Communicate proactively, surfacing blockers, asking the right questions, and keeping stakeholders in the loop.
- Enjoy iterative improvement and care deeply about quality.
