About The Position
Rechat is the operating system for real estate, offering a comprehensive product that integrates marketing, CRM, transactions, listings, and AI, aiming to replace the fragmented tools currently used by real estate agents. The company serves major brokerages and networks in North America, with tens of thousands of agents using their platform weekly. Rechat has recently focused on rebuilding its product to be AI-native and is experiencing rapid growth. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between brokerage leaders' needs and Rechat's platform capabilities, particularly in leveraging AI. The engineer will engage with brokerage executives and managers to understand their requirements, translating these into functional software. This includes developing manager dashboards, business trackers, listing tools, workflows, and AI agents designed to perform tasks like monitoring deals, summarizing activity, identifying risks, and taking automated actions. The emphasis of this position is on speed and iteration. The goal is to move from a client call to a working prototype within a day and to production within days, leveraging AI to accelerate development. The engineer will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of what they build, from client interaction and specification to prototyping, launch, and post-launch support. Some solutions will be tailored for individual brokerages, while the most impactful will be integrated into the core Rechat product for all users. This is a new function within the company, offering the opportunity to help define its operational model.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years as a full-stack software engineer with production experience.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
- Comfortable working across the full stack: APIs, data, frontend, and deployment.
- Daily use of AI tools in development, demonstrating a significant increase in speed and efficiency.
- Experience working directly with customers or non-technical stakeholders to deliver shipped products from vague requirements.
- Experience debugging and supporting software post-launch, not just handing it off.
Nice To Haves
- Experience building AI agents where an LLM calls tools or APIs to take action autonomously, including managing instances where the AI makes errors.
- Real estate or proptech experience, with an understanding of industry terminology and business models.
Responsibilities
- Discovery: Running calls with brokerage leaders, identifying core problems beyond initial requests, and documenting them as clear specifications.
- Rapid prototyping: Developing client-ready prototypes within days using AI for accelerated building.
- Shipping: Deploying prototypes to production via Rechat's APIs at a high frequency.
- AI agents: Building features where AI autonomously takes action, defining triggers, data usage, tools, actions, and error handling.
- Post-launch support: Debugging and maintaining shipped features, including fixing any issues that arise.
- Productizing: Identifying common needs across multiple brokerages and building a single solution for universal use.
- Adoption: Ensuring that developed features are actively used by clients.
