About The Position

We're looking for an exceptional software engineer with a passion for building great products. You'll get exposure to our full platform stack — web, native, and backend — building solutions our users and customers rely on every day. This role is focused on our Chat, Assistant, and Intelligence products. You'll work on tools that help prospective students engage with universities and make informed decisions, and that help university staff and ambassadors have meaningful conversations backed by valuable data. You'll work with a modern tech stack and AI systems to bring powerful features to our customers and users. We build products that can be used by anyone, so experience with WCAG-accessible UI is a plus.

Requirements

  • Proficient in TypeScript
  • Solid experience building well-architected, reusable React components — component lifecycle, performance, and state management — or confidence building scalable backend services and managing AWS infrastructure
  • Experience building applications powered by GraphQL APIs
  • Experience in a microservice-driven environment
  • Comfortable writing robust test suites
  • AI adopter — comfortable with parallel pipelines and agentic tooling, and understands that good agents come from systems-thinking, testing, and validation, not just code generation
  • Experience building performant microservices with frameworks like Express or NestJS
  • Familiarity with MongoDB or another NoSQL database, including common design patterns and trade-offs
  • English level - at least Upper-intermediate and higher
  • Product-minded and user-obsessed
  • Takes real ownership of a product - upkeep, performance, and bug resolution included
  • Curious, eager to learn, and open to continuous growth
  • A team player who enjoys teaching and learning from others

Nice To Haves

  • Python is a bonus
  • Experience meeting WCAG accessibility standards
  • React Native experience
  • Event-driven systems (Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ)
  • Serverless architecture
  • Python with Flask or Django
