About The Position
Metal Toad is a strategic AI partner that helps customers use AI to build engines for future growth. The company partners with AWS, Anthropic, and OpenAI, and its team includes consultants, software engineers, DevOps engineers, UX designers, project managers, marketers, and supporting staff. Metal Toad is fully remote and offers team members the ability to work from home. For this position, the company is seeking contractors residing in Brazil. Compensation will be paid in Brazilian Reais (R$), in accordance with the local currency of the position. Metal Toad cannot sponsor visas for this role. The Fullstack Software Engineer builds high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications and contributes to mission-critical applications as part of a talented team. The role involves planning, development, and technical expertise, with backend and frontend work assigned according to demand. Requirements

- Advanced to fluent English communication skills.
- At least 3 years of experience with Python.
- At least 3 years of experience with NextJS.
- Familiarity with relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with Postman and making API calls.
- Experience with REST API development and deployment.
- Experience with JSON modeling and usage.
- Experience querying and modeling using a relational data store.
- Experience using package managers such as Composer.
- Experience using Git for source control.
- Reside in Brazil for this contractor position.
Nice To Haves
- AWS certifications or willingness to obtain certification.
- Interest in generative AI technologies.
- At least 2 years of experience with React.
- At least 2 years of experience with NodeJS.
Responsibilities
- Adapt to a dynamic, collaborative work environment, make independent decisions, and communicate them effectively.
- Confirm project requirements by reviewing program objectives, input data, and output requirements with project managers, supervisors, and clients.
- Provide estimates based on requirements, wireframes, and designs.

- Write code that conforms to best practices and value well-tested code.
- Perform peer code reviews and create projects that are free of major defects.

- Research new libraries, techniques, and ideas.
- Take ownership of accomplishing new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to work accomplishments.
