Full Stack Developer

Teserac, Inc.•Santa Clara, CA
•$180,000 - $230,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Teserac is building Neuron™, an AI-native observability and automation platform for data center power infrastructure. This platform provides operators with real-time visibility and helps them proactively address issues. The AI teammate within Neuron™ detects anomalies, correlates events, and recommends actions. As a Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of features, from data ingestion from building management systems (BMS) to the time-series data storage and the operator-facing dashboards. This is a hybrid role based in Santa Clara, and visa sponsorship is available. The company emphasizes a fast-paced environment with a small team, where engineers own outcomes and ship code rapidly.

Requirements

  • 7+ years building and shipping production software across the stack
  • Strong Python, ideally Django
  • Strong PostgreSQL: schema design, query performance, and migrations
  • Practical time-series experience (TimescaleDB ideal, or deep experience with another time-series or high-volume streaming store)
  • Solid React and TypeScript, with the ability to keep data-heavy interfaces fast
  • Experience with asynchronous and event-driven systems (task queues, pub/sub, streaming, or WebSockets)
  • Comfortable on AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS, ElastiCache, and IoT Core)
  • Ability to work independently, define scope from rough requirements, and ship code

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial or IoT telemetry experience (BMS, EPMS, DCIM, SCADA, or similar OT data sources)
  • Hands-on experience with industrial protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, or vendor BMS APIs)
  • Data center infrastructure familiarity (power distribution topology, UPS and PDU behavior, or PUE)
  • Experience building observability or monitoring products, commercial or internal
  • Early-stage startup experience, Seed through Series B

Responsibilities

  • Build operator-facing features for Neuron™ in React and TypeScript, including real-time dashboards, alerting, alarm and ticket workflows, capacity planning views, and power-flow visualizations.
  • Develop interfaces for the AI teammate, such as interaction panels, recommendation displays, approval workflows, and audit trails.
  • Ensure large, data-dense views are fast and responsive across devices.
  • Build and maintain the ingestion path for bringing telemetry from customer sites into Neuron™, including edge collectors, MQTT over AWS IoT Core, queue-based workers, and normalization into a canonical metric model.
  • Write integration modules for real building and power systems like Siemens Desigo, Schneider PME and EcoStruxure, Niagara, Eaton, and generic BACnet, Modbus, and SNMP sources.
  • Own the correctness of ingested data, including point mapping, unit and phase semantics, deduplication, and backfill.
  • Develop against PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB, focusing on hypertables, continuous aggregates, compression, and retention.
  • Design schema and migrations that remain safe as tables grow to billions of rows.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues that arise with large customer data volumes.
  • Write tested, reviewed code and contribute to CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Troubleshoot production issues across the entire stack and participate in on-call rotations as the platform scales.
