Full-Stack Agentic Cyber Capabilities Developer

Booz Allen Hamilton•Huntsville, AL

About The Position

Booz Allen is seeking a full-stack developer to develop software and systems from initial vision through production. The senior developer will build user experiences, APIs, back-end services, and agent orchestration workflows, collaborating with cyber operators, AI engineers, architects, and product teams to turn red team processes into reliable, observable, and governed agentic capabilities. The role involves designing how agents use mission context, select approved tools, coordinate tasks, maintain state, and adapt to results. It also includes implementing safeguards such as authorization boundaries, human approval points, audit logging, and failsafe controls so agent actions remain explainable and within authorized scope. The developer will apply modern AI and software architecture patterns to adversary emulation planning, workflow orchestration, operational visibility, results analysis, and continuous capability evaluation, while keeping solutions extensible as models, tools, and mission requirements evolve.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing full-stack software applications using Agile methods.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing front-end applications, back-end services, APIs, and data storage solutions.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing secure software for cybersecurity, adversary emulation, red team operations, or attack simulation.
  • At least 3 years of experience designing distributed services, event-driven workflows, task orchestration, or asynchronous processing capabilities.
  • At least 3 years of experience implementing authentication, authorization, input validation, audit logging, automated testing, and secure development controls.
  • At least 3 years of experience collaborating with cyber operators, AI practitioners, product managers, and engineers to translate mission requirements into production-ready capabilities.
  • At least 2 years of experience integrating AI, machine learning, large language models, or intelligent automation into software applications.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or 8 or more years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree.
  • Candidates must complete the required skills assessment and meet the minimum proficiency threshold to continue in the hiring process.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing AI agents that use tools, maintain state, perform multi-step reasoning, or coordinate with other agents.
  • Experience with agent frameworks, model gateways, retrieval augmented generation, vector databases, prompt management, or structured model outputs.
  • Experience building human-in-the-loop approval workflows, agent guardrails, policy enforcement, and comprehensive observability.
  • Experience evaluating agent performance, including task completion, reliability, safety, latency, cost, and model behavior.
  • Experience with Java, Python, C#, .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or Node.js.
  • Experience developing capabilities aligned with MITRE ATT&CK or supporting authorized adversary emulation planning and analysis.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, containerized applications, Kubernetes, cyber ranges, DevSecOps, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and implement full-stack software applications using Agile methods.
  • Build intuitive user experiences, robust APIs, scalable back-end services, and agent orchestration workflows.
  • Collaborate with cyber operators, AI engineers, architects, and product teams to translate red team processes and mission requirements into production-ready capabilities.
  • Design agent workflows for reasoning over mission context, selecting approved tools, coordinating tasks, maintaining state, and adapting to results.
  • Implement authorization boundaries, human approval points, audit logging, and failsafe controls to keep agent actions explainable and within authorized scope.
  • Apply AI and software architecture patterns to adversary emulation planning, workflow orchestration, operational visibility, results analysis, and continuous capability evaluation.
  • Ensure solutions support current operating environments and remain extensible as models, tools, and mission requirements evolve.

Benefits

  • Health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits.
  • Paid leave.
  • Professional development.
  • Tuition assistance.
  • Work-life programs.
  • Dependent care.
  • Recognition awards for exceptional performance and demonstration of company values.
