About The Position

We are a thriving oral surgery practice in North Carolina dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and a seamlessly run operation. Our team is collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about what we do — and we're looking for a skilled bookkeeper to help keep our financial operations running smoothly behind the scenes. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Full-Service Bookkeeper to join our team in an onsite role (part-time or full-time, depending on the right candidate). This position owns the day-to-day bookkeeping function for the practice, with a strong focus on accounts payable and vendor management. You'll work closely with practice leadership to maintain clean books, ensure timely payments, and support financial reporting — all within QuickBooks Online.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, including hands-on AP responsibility
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online — this is a hard requirement
  • Strong working knowledge of accounts payable processes and vendor management
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accurate, timely work
  • Comfortable working onsite at our North Carolina practice location
  • Professional communication skills and ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical, dental, or oral surgery practice environment
  • Familiarity with practice management software and healthcare billing workflows
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience with 1099 preparation and year-end processes

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full AP cycle — coding, routing for approval, and processing invoices accurately and on time
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor relationships, including setting up new vendors and resolving billing discrepancies
  • Process weekly/bi-weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, and credit card) and reconcile vendor statements
  • Maintain organized vendor files and ensure W-9s and 1099 documentation are current
  • Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness
  • Record and categorize all financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Generate and distribute standard financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for practice leadership
  • Support preparation for annual audits, tax filings, and CPA requests
  • Maintain organized digital records and documentation in accordance with practice policies
