About The Position

Mammoth Sports Construction is seeking a hands-on Full-Cycle Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting for a smaller affiliated entity within the larger Mammoth organization. This role is responsible for the complete accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, journal entries, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. The position will work closely with the corporate accounting team while independently maintaining accurate and timely financial records for the assigned entity.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, including debits and credits
  • Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and payroll
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of an entity's books, and consistently meet payroll and close deadlines
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and integrity, with the ability to support the company, its values, and employees in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • Two years of hands-on, full-cycle accounting experience required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary accountant for an assigned affiliated entity and maintain its complete, accurate accounting records
  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, approval coordination, payments, vendor records, and account reconciliation
  • Manage full-cycle accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, cash application, collections follow-up, and aging review
  • Perform month-end and year-end accounting close responsibilities, including: Reconciling bank, credit card, balance sheet, and intercompany accounts
  • Preparing recurring, adjusting, accrual, prepaid, and intercompany journal entries
  • Reviewing account activity, maintaining support schedules, and resolving discrepancies
  • Process payroll timely and accurately
  • Research and respond to payroll and other accounting-related tax notices
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports for the assigned entity and communicate relevant results to management
