About The Position

Ancient Crunch Inc. is seeking a full-time, on-site Fulfillment Manager, also known as a Factory Planner, to join their team. The Fulfillment Manager will be responsible for ensuring the right inventory is produced to meet customer needs, and that it is packed and shipped correctly, completely, and in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • Bi-lingual preferred (willingness to learn languages will be supported for exceptional candidates).
  • Live within 45 minutes of Hackettstown, NJ.
  • Basic spatial reasoning skills (understanding of bags, boxes, palettes, etc.).
  • People Management skills (comfortable delegating tasks and correcting behavior).
  • Understand that you will set an example for everyone below you.
  • Professional attitude toward both internal and external personnel.
  • Comfortable with a digital-first role (less hands-on).
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Affinity for numbers and basic numerical analysis.
  • Comfortable in a rapid-changing environment.
  • Basic familiarity with computers in general.
  • Familiarity with the following software tools: Email, Excel/Google Sheets, Printing documents.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the production schedule for the following week based on inventory needs from the current backlog and management goals.
  • Adjust the plan and communicate to management during the week as needed.
  • Proactively monitor the supply of packaging materials (e.g., boxes, tape) and communicate needs to procurement based on current and projected demand.
  • Help procurement evaluate new material providers as necessary.
  • Support new product launches and the additional materials they require.
  • Prioritize shipments across channels (DTC/parcels, Amazon, Wholesale/LTL) based on management goals and inventory limitations, and provide packing instructions to fulfillment sub-teams.
  • Hire and train fulfillment sub-team leads and staff.
  • Request and coordinate training of additional temp staff as necessary.
  • Approve timesheets for fulfillment staff.
  • Log disciplinary infractions and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Provide daily inventory, backlog, and shipping updates, and answer fulfillment status requests.
  • Own Shipstation setup, maintenance, and usage, including creating and modifying shipping filters and automation rules, monitoring for "limbo" shipments, sending daily shipping manifests, printing labels, and resolving minor Shipstation errors.
  • Log boxes and palettes shipped in the appropriate tracker daily.
  • Ensure one-off priority orders are shipped quickly.
  • Provide clear bilingual instructions for all fulfillment functions, including box packing arrangements and label printing, and create/update instruction books in Google Docs/Notion.
  • Own the relationship with freight brokers, UPS terminal, drivers, etc., including scheduling pickups, negotiating terms, and building relationships.
  • Coordinate LTL/FTL shipments with freight brokers and wholesale teams.
  • Log status of large shipments and POs in the shipping and receiving tracker.
  • Work with shipping providers to improve pricing.
  • Make returned boxes available to quality control for evaluation.
  • Measure and improve the per-person performance of fulfillment operations (e.g., improve bags shipped per person).
