About The Position

Specpro Environmental Services LLC is hiring a Fuels Technician to install, inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fuel systems and related infrastructure. Work includes fuel storage tanks, pipelines, dispensers, and associated equipment, as well as welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum. The position requires interpreting technical drawings and specifications, verifying materials and equipment, and ensuring work and systems comply with safety protocols, industry regulations, and DoD standards. Weld quality is evaluated against applicable standards and specifications through Non-Destructive Examination by an independent CWI. The role requires travel to various job sites throughout the USA. Work takes place in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. Compensation is $30–$40 per hour plus per diem. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven construction experience, particularly with fuel systems or related infrastructure projects.
GTAW and SMAW process welding certifications and the listed WPS certifications: WPS-P1-P1-GT-SM, WPS-P8-P8-GT, and WPS-P1-P1-GT.
Proficiency in welding techniques and equipment.
Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and quality standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Previous experience in fuel systems maintenance.
Knowledge of fuel system operations and safety regulations.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
OSHA 30-Hr Construction Safety Certification.
CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
Ability to pass a DoD Security Forces Background Check for access to military installations.
Ability to maneuver around worksites and see, hear, and verbally communicate with coworkers and clients.
Ability to bend, stoop, sit, walk, or stand for prolonged periods and work outdoors for extended periods in varied and potentially inclement weather.
Ability to routinely lift up to 35 pounds.
Ability to properly use required personal protective equipment, including hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
Ability to maintain constant mental alertness.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret technical drawings, schematics, specifications, blueprints, and welding symbols.
Install fuel systems, including storage tanks, pipelines, dispensers, and associated equipment.
Inspect and test fuel systems during and after construction to verify functionality and safety.
Perform welding on stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum, including small- and large-bore applications, using project-appropriate techniques.
Prepare metal surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, or sanding.
Verify that materials and equipment meet industry standards and specifications.
Ensure construction activities follow design specifications, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
Ensure fuel systems operate safely and efficiently in accordance with industry regulations and DoD standards.
Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, calibration, and replacement of parts.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with fuel systems.
Accurately document incidents, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
Inspect welds for defects and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
Ensure welds meet quality, specification, and safety requirements based on Non-Destructive Examination by an independent CWI.
