About The Position

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is hiring a Fuel Truck Driver to support heavy civil construction work at various jobsites across Virginia. The role involves safely operating a commercial vehicle, refueling heavy equipment, completing routine equipment maintenance tasks, and maintaining vehicle and fuel records. The position is full-time and year-round, with a 6:00 AM start time; overtime and weekend work may be required. The base hourly pay range is $25.00–$35.00, with compensation varying based on factors including education, experience, skills, and geographic location.

Requirements

Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.
Clean driving record, with no major traffic violations, tickets, or accidents in the last seven years.
Ability to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Manual transmission experience.

Responsibilities

Know and follow Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain inspection reports.
Maintain daily mileage and fuel-dispensing logs.
Safely operate a commercial vehicle in varied conditions, including heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas across Virginia.
Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel.
Grease heavy equipment wear parts and grease fittings daily.
Top off fluids as needed.
Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness.
Meet the company’s health and safety culture, policies, and requirements.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
