About The Position

Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is seeking a Fuel Truck Driver to support transportation and heavy civil construction operations at various jobsites across Virginia. The role involves safely driving a commercial fuel truck, refueling heavy equipment, completing vehicle and equipment upkeep, and maintaining required inspection, mileage, and fuel-dispensing records. This is a full-time, year-round position with a 6:00 AM start time; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Requirements

Class B CDL with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.
Clean driving record, with no major traffic violations, tickets, or accidents in the last 7 years.
Pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screening.
Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Ability to pass background checks for secure facility access.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Manual transmission experience.

Responsibilities

Know and follow Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain inspection reports.
Maintain daily mileage and fuel-dispensing logs.
Safely operate and maneuver a commercial vehicle in heavy traffic, construction sites, and tight areas across Virginia.
Refuel heavy equipment using diesel fuel.
Grease heavy equipment wear parts and grease fittings daily.
Top off fluids as needed.
Maintain assigned vehicle(s) to a high standard of cleanliness.
Meet the company’s health and safety culture, policies, and requirements.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers.
