Fuel Transport Driver
About The Position
Primary duties include safely transport and delivery of fuel or liquefied petroleum gas and the safe operation of an assigned tractor/trailer and tanker. Drivers are responsible for providing excellent customer service and completing product deliveries timely and accurately according to customer needs. Deliver fuel and petroleum products to customers. Report in and stay connected with dispatch as required. Complete daily driver log and all necessary trip reports, fuel reports, equipment reports, and other paperwork required by the Company and turned in as instructed. Be aware of and comply with; Applicable federal, state, local, and Company rules and regulations that are in accordance with the accepted principles of the safe operation of a cargo tank motor vehicle. Know and comply with all applicable rules, regulations and policies for the safe operation of a cargo tank motor vehicle. Proper methods of loading and unloading the various products transported. Respond promptly to customer needs, requests for service and assistance and meet commitments. Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly. Driver must follow Company guidelines for acceptable conduct when dealing with customers, co-workers and the motoring public.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- CDL Class A with Tanker/Hazmat endorsement
- 2 years CDL driving experience and good driving record
- Qualify and meet ALL requirements as required by Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations
- Be able to qualify physically, and obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, under the requirements of Sub Part E, Section 391 of the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations
- Successful completion of a physical assessment required
- Experience using computers, email, electronic log books and other applications to complete driver daily log and all necessary trip reports, fuel reports, equipment reports, and other paperwork
- Able to read and understand meters, gauges and BOL’s
- Customer focus required
- Work history which demonstrates honesty and dependability
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position
