About The Position

Wilcox + Flegel is looking to add a dedicated and safety-focused Fuel Tank Wagon Driver to our industry-leading team of professional drivers. The role is LOCAL with competitive pay and benefits, so you will be home every day! We provide consistent scheduling so you will have the time and energy to do the things you love outside of work! Our drivers come for the pay and benefits and stay for the positive work environment, work/life balance, and much more. Monday-Friday, 2PM-10PM shifts.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and the ability to use loading arms and card readers at rack facilities, use auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading of vehicle and use spill kits and fire extinguisher.
  • Must be able to drive at night with limited visibility.
  • Must be able to climb in and out of Fuel Tank Wagon, operate gear shift and brake & gas petals.
  • Must be able to climb on various pieces of equipment to reach fuel tank access.
  • Local driving.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skill.
  • Must be highly organized with strong ability to multi-task.
  • Able to assess competing demands and determine appropriate direction.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environment; agile, flexible and resilient.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have Class A CDL with Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements and TWIC

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer two years of experience hauling hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

  • Make deliveries of bulk fuel products to customer locations.
  • Transport load over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Chock rear wheels of truck and trailer before any unloading takes place and remove chocks before driving away from delivery.
  • Complete and transmit all paperwork in compliance with established Wilcox and Flegel Company procedures.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness and replace gaskets, nozzles and other related articles as necessary.
  • Perform safety inspections on trucks, equipment and/or facilities as required by Wilcox and Flegel Company policy.
  • Maintain miscellaneous service duties such as checking, on a daily basis, oil, water, fuel, tires and tank related items.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions and/or concerns to Dispatcher.
