About The Position

The Tank Wagon Driver must be able to safely operate a tank wagon in order to pick-up and deliver petroleum products to commercial customers. This individual must be able to complete necessary paperwork for both the customer and truck manifest in accordance with state and federal regulations. This person must comply with all Source Ones policies and procedures, health and safety policies, and the Department of Transportations Hazmat and Hours of Service requirements in order to satisfy customer needs in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsements required.
  • CETP training on basic delivery procedures required.
  • Must pass safe loading procedures at all fuel terminals where products are purchased.
  • Must pass DOT physical, physical, drug screen, and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience delivering fuels, propane, or bulk oils preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safe handling of all hazardous materials on delivery vehicle
  • Load and dispense all products from delivery truck
  • Calculate compartment sizes and fuel loaded to assure compartments are not overfilled
  • Load multiple products into different compartments and calculate balances after each delivery
  • Read diesel tank site gauges to assure customer tanks are not overfilled; adhering to the industry standard in filling the tank to 90% of capacity or less to prevent spills.
  • Complete pre-trip and post trip maintenance reports to assure proper operations of the vehicle; report all maintenance concerns to Source One management in a timely manner.
  • Drive vehicle in a safe manner according to all city, state, federal laws, and in accordance with Smith System safe driving principles.
  • Drive a delivery truck into customer sites including well pads, construction sites, private businesses, and industrial yards without causing damage to truck or property
  • Operate all pumps and hoses without spilling product
  • Follow routing developed by Source One logistics coordinators to ensure efficient utilization of the tank wagon and customers delivery windows are met.
  • Be knowledgeable of both rural and city roads in metropolitan area; operating the tank wagon on approved DOT roadways and bonded roadways when delivering well sites.
  • Able to read state, city and county maps or follow GPS directions to locate delivery locations
  • Climbing truck ladders and stairs in addition to customer tank ladders, stairs, and catwalks without incident.
  • Climbing on customers equipment (earthmoving equipment, loaders, backhoes, etc.)
  • Walking on uneven ground at construction sites
  • Pulling hoses from the truck to the customers tank, then rewinding the hose back to the truck
  • Meet safety standards at loading terminals
  • Meet suppliers qualifications to load product at rack
