About The Position

The Fuel Cashier is a member of the TravelCenters of America store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests. The role supports the travel center’s one-stop shopping experience and helps travelers get back on the road. Duties include processing large diesel-fuel transactions and handling a variety of customer transactions and services. The work may involve exposure to outdoor elements, fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, loud noise, and substances such as dirt, dust, grease, oil, gas, and concentrated cleaning solutions. The position may include other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer and point-of-sale knowledge preferred.
Cash-handling skills preferred.
A dedicated individual who works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

Serve customers courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
Process large diesel-fuel transactions on a point-of-sale register, handling cash, checks, and credit cards.
Handle customer transactions involving merchandise, truck scales, shower reservations, communication methods, and personal check-cashing.
Prioritize work according to customer and management needs.
Follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
