About The Position

The Fuel Cashier is a key member of the TravelCenters of America store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests. The role serves customers courteously, quickly, and efficiently while maintaining a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude. Duties include processing large diesel fuel transactions on a point-of-sale register and handling cash, checks, and credit cards, as well as multitasking transactions involving merchandise, truck scales, shower reservations, communications, and personal check cashing. The Fuel Cashier works in a customer-service-focused environment, follows safety guidelines, reports potentially unsafe situations, communicates with leaders and coworkers, and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer and point-of-sale knowledge.

Responsibilities

Serve each customer courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.

Handle payments by cash, check, and credit card.
Multitask transactions involving merchandise, truck scales, shower reservations, communications, and personal check cashing.
Prioritize work according to customer and management needs.
Know and follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and coworkers.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
