About The Position

We are seeking an FSQA Technician (Contract) to join our team at our Brantford bakery for a 12‑month temporary assignment. As an FSQA Technician, you will be accountable for conducting food‑safety and quality sampling, testing, inspections, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and Aspire Bakeries’ AIMS program requirements.

Requirements

• Post‑secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology, Human Ecology, or related field
• 1–2 years of experience in the food industry (bakery experience preferred)
• Strong written communication, math, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Ability to taste/test ingredients and finished products (facility uses allergens: wheat, egg, tree nuts, soy, milk, sulphites)
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive work

Responsibilities

• Execute sampling, testing, and documentation activities to support GFSI, HACCP, HARPC, and GMP compliance
• Support the Preventive Controls/HARPC Team in implementing the Food Safety Plan
• Conduct chemical, physical, and microbiological testing using approved methods and instrumentation
• Verify product quality, conduct daily evaluations, and ensure compliance to specifications
• Maintain accurate data entry—including SAP holds/releases, quality records, and test results
• Perform pre‑operational inspections and environmental monitoring activities
• Identify, report, and escalate non‑conformances; hold product when required
• Contribute to continuous improvement and support root‑cause investigations
