About The Position

The FSQA Lab Tech I supports laboratory operations and product testing. The role helps maintain compliance and product quality through inspection, sample collection, testing, and documentation. Duties include maintaining lab housekeeping, managing Micro Lab package shipping and receiving, completing errands and sample pickups, collecting samples outside the lab, and conducting finished-goods analytical testing of PET products and pre-retort cans.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
1–2 years of experience with quality inspection, auditing, data collection, and testing.
Six months of experience in a lab setting.
Experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office and office-based database systems.
Ability to understand department documents.
Sound logic and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate comfortably and work with coworkers in a team environment.
Ability to follow a schedule and verbal and written instructions.
Ability to read and speak English.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Sound math skills, including percent calculations, averages, means, and standard deviation.
Ability to respond quickly to information requests from internal and external customers.
Ability to follow SOPs.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or associate degree in a science or quality technology program.
Experience in food manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Maintain lab housekeeping, including waste management, cleaning benchtops and carts, sanitizing biological safety cabinets, and keeping the lab uncluttered.
Manage shipping and receiving packages for the Micro Lab.
Complete errands, including sample pickups when needed, courier package drop-offs, and outside-lab errands.
Collect samples outside the lab, including water samples.
Perform finished-goods analytical testing of PET products and pre-retort cans.
