Frontend Engineer

FluidstackAustin, TX
$120,000 - $200,000

About The Position

We are hiring a Frontend Engineer to own the surfaces that define how the world perceives Fluidstack and how our internal teams operate. You will be the primary engineer across two high-visibility domains: our public marketing website and the internal tooling that powers our operational workflows. This is not a role where frontend sits downstream of design hand-offs. You will make architectural decisions, push visual quality, and ship code that matters to both external customers and the people running one of the fastest-scaling AI infrastructure companies in the world. You will work directly with design, product, and engineering leadership.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience shipping production React applications.
  • Strong command of TypeScript and hands-on experience with Mantine, Tailwind CSS, or similar frameworks in production applications.
  • Experience building and maintaining a component library documented in Storybook.
  • Shipped a public-facing marketing site with a high design bar and measurable performance requirements.
  • Proficiency with modern React patterns: hooks, context, server components, and state management (Zustand, Jotai, or equivalent).
  • Experience with PWAs, React Native, or other mobile frameworks.
  • Comfortable with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and reviewing your own PRs critically before asking others to.
  • Ability to operate independently on projects without granular task breakdown; you identify what needs to be done.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, with visible output at devtools, infrastructure, or technical SaaS companies.
  • Fluency with Framer or Webflow for quick prototyping and similar exercises.
  • Active and opinionated use of AI-assisted development tooling (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, v0, or similar) with a clear point of view on where these tools accelerate output and where they introduce risk.
  • Experience with Next.js App Router, including RSC patterns, streaming, and deployment on Vercel or similar edge runtimes.
  • Exposure to data-heavy dashboard UIs: charting libraries (Recharts, Victory, Observable Plot), table virtualization, and real-time data via WebSockets or SSE.
  • Design sensibility that goes beyond implementing specs: you have opinions about typography, spacing, and interaction detail, and can push back on decisions that lower the quality bar.
  • Familiarity with technical infrastructure concepts sufficient to build tooling for data center and compute operations teams without needing domain concepts explained from first principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate our homepage: lead technical decisions on architecture, performance, and UX quality for our public marketing site.
  • Build internal UIs: design and ship React-based interfaces for operational dashboards, data center management views, procurement workflows, and other internal surfaces that engineering and ops teams depend on daily.
  • Establish and maintain a component system: build shared component libraries in React with Mantine and/or Tailwind that are documented in Storybook, adopted by the team, and held to a high visual and accessibility standard.
  • Move fast with AI-assisted workflows: you actively use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or comparable AI tooling to accelerate development. You are not threatened by these tools; you amplify your output with them.
  • Push interactive experiences: prototype and ship motion, transitions, and marketing-forward interactions using Framer where appropriate. Know when to use it and when to reach for lower-level primitives instead.
  • Manage and extend our CMS/no-code layer: own integrations with Webflow or equivalent for marketing content workflows, with the judgment to know when no-code tooling is the right abstraction and when it is not.
  • Drive frontend engineering quality: write clean TypeScript, enforce type safety, contribute to CI/CD, and set standards for component architecture, state management, and performance profiling.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: work closely with product designers, infrastructure engineers, and GTM stakeholders. Translate ambiguous asks into well-scoped implementations without needing detailed specs handed to you.

Benefits

  • We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
  • Fluidstack is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
