About The Position

The Galt House Hotel is seeking a Front Office Supervisor. This role is crucial for managing daily operations at the front desk of a prominent Louisville hotel, known for its central location and status as the 'official hotel' for many city attractions. The supervisor will ensure guests have a positive experience from check-in to check-out, contributing to the hotel's reputation as an iconic lifestyle destination.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Familiar with basic math and cash handling procedures
  • Possess computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Positive and professional attitude at all times
  • Knowledge of the greater Louisville Area
  • Ability to work with all levels of management
  • Ability to meet deadlines in fast paced environment
  • Flexible schedule with full availability on nights and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of experience in hospitality

Responsibilities

  • Make a daily reservation count of arrivals and departures to aid in the selling of rooms
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to upgrade room types and promote other services of the hotel
  • Register all incoming guest in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Stay up to date on room rates, packages, discounts and how to handle each
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of room types, location, literature, furnishings and other amenities that are included
  • Handle complaints courteously and relay them to your manager for appropriate action
  • Plan, schedule, organize, coordinate and administer front office activities
  • Perform responsibilities of front office agent
  • Supervise and train front office personnel
  • All other duties as required
