About The Position

QualDerm Partners, a leading dermatology network, is seeking a Front Office Receptionist for its Charlotte, NC location. This role is crucial for providing excellent patient care and maintaining efficient office operations. The receptionist will be responsible for patient registration, insurance verification, and ensuring a positive experience for patients, providers, and staff. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professional, and committed to upholding confidentiality and established procedures within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States in a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience in a healthcare office setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously in person and over the phone, answering or directing inquiries as needed.
  • Record patient arrivals accurately in the Practice Management System (EMR).
  • Verify patient identity, create new patient accounts when necessary, and prepare patient paperwork prior to appointments.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, follow up on “No Show” patients, and ensure optimized utilization of provider and treatment room time.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and financial information using facility tools, coordinate prior authorizations, and communicate as needed with the Billing Department.
  • Collect patient copays and balances, maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to patients in distress or emergency situations using sound judgment.
  • Follow all policies and procedures and assist with team efforts to achieve operational goals.
  • Answer telephone calls in a polite and timely manner, facilitating clear communication with patients and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.
