About The Position

The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is seeking a new Front Office Receptionist for our main clinical location. As one of the administrative positions at our clinic, this person acts as the front line of patient care. You would be greeting and assisting incoming patients, handling last minute scheduling, and liaise between patients and clinical staff. If you are a personable, passionate, and positive individual with a heart for service, we want to hear from you! This role will also support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $19.00-$34.03. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc. Employment Type: 1.0 FTE (40 hr/week) Schedule: Monday-Friday from 6:30 am - 3:30 pm Benefits: M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k) Location: Eugene, OR

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) required.
  • Demonstrates Adaptability: Handles day to day work challenges confidently; is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities; demonstrates flexibility

Nice To Haves

  • Some receptionist or office experience preferred (1-3 years minimum).

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Checks in patients and informs clinical staff of patient arrival.
  • Provides and explains paperwork for the patient to complete prior to examination. Collects, proofs for completeness, and files patient forms. Updates demographics and insurance information in the system. Collects co-pays and balances; provides receipt.
  • Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes to appropriate personnel, or take thorough messages. Pages clinic personnel as appropriate. Communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner according to procedures.
  • Maintains lobby area in a neat and orderly manner. Maintains a legible supply of forms and appropriate office supplies required for daily activities.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient’s records.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned. May type memos and forms.
