About The Position

Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is hiring a Front Office Clinic Assistant to join our Northeast Family Planning Health Center team in Portland. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years of customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to provide welcoming, respectful service to people from diverse backgrounds
  • Comfort using computers and learning new software systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality, inclusion, and equitable access to health care

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a health care setting, medical office, or patient-facing role
  • Experience with scheduling, registration, insurance verification, or payment processing
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Bilingual Spanish skills or proficiency in another language

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and help them check in and out of appointments
  • Schedule appointments and respond to patient questions by phone and in person
  • Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information
  • Explain payment options, collect payments, and assist with financial paperwork
  • Maintain accurate patient records using our electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Coordinate with clinicians and other health center staff to keep patient visits running smoothly
  • Help patients navigate paperwork, services, and next steps in their care
  • Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality
  • Provide compassionate, inclusive, and judgment-free customer service to patients from diverse backgrounds
