Front End Software Developer, Senior
About The Position
Booz Allen is seeking a senior front end developer to build and maintain software and systems from initial vision through production-ready delivery in a fast, agile environment. The role involves developing front-end solutions, mastering new tools and techniques, identifying system improvements, and helping clients address difficult challenges using current architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. The developer will ensure solutions account for the existing architecture and operating environment as well as future functionality and enhancements. The position is located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, and is not listed as remote. Applicants must hold TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. Candidates must also complete a required skills assessment and meet its minimum proficiency threshold to continue in the hiring process.
Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining applications, including front-end solutions with React, Svelte, or Vue.js.
- Experience developing and maintaining responsive, accessible web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience working in Agile environments and applying methodologies such as Scrum and Extreme Programming.
- Experience creating applications and enhancing user experience and responsive design.
- Ability to use DOM manipulation techniques to create dynamic, interactive user experiences.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, reusable code.
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of software engineering experience, or at least 10 years of software engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- Successful completion of the required skills assessment at the minimum proficiency threshold.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN, including branching strategies and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience maintaining existing systems built with legacy frameworks such as Backbone.js or jQuery.
- Experience with automation and workflow optimization.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration of front-end applications with back-end services.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, and containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of multiple programming languages such as Java, C#, or C/C++.
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques such as lazy loading, code splitting, and caching strategies.
