The Front End Maintainer is responsible for the setup, adjusting, repairing, maintaining, and overhaul of front end related equipment. This role involves understanding and complying with safety procedures, rebuilding and repairing various types of frontend can manufacturing and other equipment, and modifying, removing, installing, adjusting, synchronizing, making, or repairing equipment or parts as required. This could include large presses and dies, deep drawing and trimming equipment, transfer equipment, and various electrical and mechanical control devices. The position also requires instructing and training other mechanics, making proper diagnoses and adjustments, and reading and interpreting computer information system reports. The mechanic will determine specifications for inspection, use precision measuring tools, and operate machine tools efficiently. A thorough knowledge of mechanical principles, including timing, synchronizing, and aligning mechanical action, is essential. The role involves setting up and testing equipment under power to identify and correct mechanical difficulties, as well as operating, clearing jams, lubricating, cleaning, and adding materials to equipment to maintain operational status.
