About The Position

What if the checkout flow, wallet interface, or payment confirmation screen used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide ran on code you wrote? The Wallet & Payments Engineering Web team owns the full-stack web properties that power one of the most trusted and widely used financial experiences in consumer technology. This is a rare seat at the table where frontend craft, backend architecture, and global-scale impact converge — on a lean team where every engineer's contribution is visible and consequential.

Requirements

  • 3+ years delivering production-grade, customer-facing web software with measurable quality and performance outcomes
  • 2+ years building Node.js BFF layers that serve complex web UIs at scale
  • Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks — specifically React and/or Vue — applied in production environments
  • Demonstrated ability to drive ambiguous deliverables independently, with accountability at milestones rather than requiring step-by-step direction
  • Solid grounding in CS fundamentals — algorithms, data structures, system design — applied to real architectural decisions
  • Working knowledge of web security principles and cryptographic concepts as they apply to frontend and API design

Nice To Haves

  • Shipped production applications using SSR frameworks (e.g., Nuxt, Next.js) with Vite or Webpack as the build layer
  • Hands-on experience integrating CI/CD pipelines with frontend testing coverage via Cypress or Playwright
  • Built or contributed to a design system with documented accessibility standards meeting WCAG 2.1 AA or higher
  • Prior work on iOS or hybrid mobile development, giving you fluency in the native-to-web integration layer
  • Production experience with real-time web technologies — WebSockets, WebRTC, or WebGL — deployed at meaningful scale

Responsibilities

  • Own features end-to-end — from Node.js BFF layer to pixel-perfect UI — shipping alongside server, native, design, and QA engineers who hold the bar exceptionally high.
  • Ensure codebase serves a global user base, meaning every performance decision, security choice, and accessibility call carries real weight.
  • Be pushed to grow rapidly: the surface area is wide, the problems are novel, and the engineers around you will accelerate your technical judgment in ways a larger, slower team never could.
