Front End Department Supervisor

Lowe's Home Centers•Schererville, IN

About The Position

The Front End Department Supervisor leads and coaches team members, supports staffing and coverage, and helps ensure the department delivers strong customer service and operational results. The role provides feedback and recognition, develops associates, addresses concerns, monitors operational metrics, removes process barriers, responds to unexpected staffing or delivery events, and maintains safety, security, and shrink-prevention practices. The supervisor also recommends improvements that reduce unproductive time, waste, and product loss, and builds collaborative relationships across the store. At locations without a Fulfillment Department Supervisor, the role also oversees front-end and fulfillment activities. This includes allocating staffing to customer demand, supporting checkout and customer-service functions, handling cash-related tasks, monitoring order readiness and fulfillment timeliness, and helping pick, stage, load, and inspect merchandise. The supervisor may use power equipment, conduct area and inventory walks, and cross-train in other store areas. As Manager-on-Duty, the supervisor provides store-wide leadership over engagement, customer service, staffing, and operational efficiency. They observe and coach associate-customer interactions, help ensure sales and service readiness, shift staffing to meet traffic, manage responses to call buttons, maintain clean and safe aisles, hand off shift observations, and route non-MOD activities to appropriate leaders. Other duties may be assigned.
