About The Position

Rural King is seeking a Front End Department Lead to oversee front-end operations, support cashiers, and provide an efficient, positive customer experience. The role leads and supports front-end associates, oversees cashier and customer service transactions and cash-handling activities, and helps maintain customer-facing areas. It also oversees BOPIS fulfillment and customer pickups, assists customers with a range of store needs, and coordinates with other departments to support efficient operations. The lead communicates policies and expectations, participates in training and cross-training, supports other store operations, and demonstrates Rural King's stated values.

The position involves working a 40-hour week on varied days and shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical demands include extended sitting or standing, repetitive lifting, pushing, and/or pulling of 30 pounds, intermittent handling of 31–50 pounds, navigating all areas of the store, and close vision for computer-related activities. Requirements

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of retail cashier, front-end, or supervisory experience preferred, or equivalent education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and support front-end associates in daily operations.
• Oversee cashier and customer service desk transactions, including returns, exchanges, layaways, price disputes, and tax-exempt purchases.
• Manage cash handling, bank deposits, safe audits, layaway audits, and cash shortage research.
• Support registers as needed and educate associates on company programs, including loyalty, RK Visa, and RK Plus Protection Plan.
• Maintain front-end displays, supplies, popcorn, coffee stations, and other customer-facing areas.
• Follow loss-prevention procedures, including EAS deactivation and shrink awareness.
• Oversee BOPIS fulfillment, customer pickups, and weekly audits, including orders beyond the 14-day pickup window.
• Assist customers with load outs, product questions, phone calls, and other front-end needs.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve customer needs and maintain efficient operations.
• Communicate policies and expectations clearly and participate in cross-training and required training.
• Support other store operations and perform duties as assigned.
