About The Position

The Front Desk Supervisor at Lower Sioux Lodge will be responsible for directly supervising Front Desk staff, assisting with recruitment, selection, and training. This role involves providing guidance to staff, handling disciplinary issues by reporting them to the Hotel Operations Manager, and administering staff schedules and work assignments. The supervisor will also perform duties of other Front Desk staff as needed, tactfully respond to guest complaints, and assist the Hotel Operations Manager with rate assignments and system adjustments for promotions. Key responsibilities include ensuring shift logs are completed, closing and balancing accounts, detailing group billing, balancing direct billing accounts, maintaining Accounts Receivable, overseeing advance deposits and direct billing, and ensuring accurate and efficient booking completion. The role also involves creating front office files, master accounts, inputting rooming lists, taking individual group reservations, closing out and releasing unused group rooms, and keeping staff informed of changes. Maintaining current and prospective databases, ensuring files are up-to-date, and presenting times to the Hotel Operations Manager are also part of the duties. Additionally, the supervisor will handle incoming phone calls for Dacotah Ridge, develop and maintain rapport with other departments, reference check for billing accuracy, and enforce all company and department policies and procedures. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned are also expected.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working at a hotel front desk.

  • Knowledge of Front Desk policies and procedures.

  • Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise Front Desk staff.

  • Ensure all bookings are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Create front office files, create master account, put in rooming list and take individual group reservations for group blocks.
  • Close out and release unused group rooms, keeping staff up to date on all changes.
  • Ensure current and prospective databases are maintained, that files are kept current and that times reported are presented to Hotel Operations Manager.
