About The Position

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for assisting all guests in a friendly and courteous manner, providing information about hotel policies, services, amenities, and the local area. This role involves managing reservations, handling guest accounts, processing payments, and ensuring the front office area is clean and organized. The agent will also maintain daily logs, adhere to security and safety procedures, and balance cash drawers. A key aspect of this role is completing training programs and maintaining departmental standards.

Requirements

  • Experience working in hospitality industry preferred.
  • Telemarketing, customer service and/or PBX experience helpful.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Solid computer skills.
  • Knowledge of telephone etiquette.
  • Knowledge of local area.
  • Able to juggle more than one task at a time.
  • Able to wear department uniform.
  • PBX experience.
  • Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
  • Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.
  • Mobility throughout the facility.
  • Able to drive a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Assist all guests in a friendly, courteous manner.
  • Provide information to guests regarding hotel policies, services, and amenities.
  • Provide information to guests regarding the local area (e.g., directions, places to eat, etc.).
  • Sell rooms to walk-in guests.
  • Receive reservation requests by telephone or letter, and accept or reject such requests.
  • Enter and/or change reservation information in the computer system.
  • Create reservations for group blocks.
  • Deliver express checkout folios.
  • Accept all inbound calls, and handle guest messages.
  • Identify calls and direct to appropriate persons.
  • Perform PBX duties as needed.
  • Post charges to guest accounts.
  • Process payments from guests.
  • Inform housekeeping department regarding room status/availability.
  • Clean front office area.
  • Maintain and submit required records and reports.
  • Maintain confidential nature of matters pertaining to company records and policies.
  • Maintain daily logs.
  • Adhere to hotel security and safety policies and procedures.
  • Uphold department standards.
  • Balance shift work and cash drawers.
  • Complete training program and pass quarterly certification.
  • Maintain a friendly, courteous demeanor at all times.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
