The Front Desk Agent must have the ability to perform all desk attendant functions including checking guests and vendors in and out, reservations, and switchboard. Must have strong customer services skills. This role provides administrative, reception and program support to management and staff. It involves managing phone activity, walk-in traffic, signing in customers, and greeting them in a welcoming manner. The position also includes registering and assigning rooms to guests, providing quotes for room rates and up-selling when possible, and assisting in coordinating the Front Desk and Housekeeping Department. Key responsibilities also include verifying correct charges and credits on guest folios, collecting payment, and ensuring all cash and cash equivalents are accounted for and balanced at the beginning and end of each work shift. The role requires responding to guest inquiries and resolving guest complaints within the scope of authority, or referring them to management. Maintaining awareness of safety issues and reporting them immediately to a manager is also essential.
