About The Position

The Front Desk Manager oversees daily front desk operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, smooth check-ins, and efficient resolution of guest inquiries and issues. The Front Office Manager leads and trains front desk staff, manage reservations, and coordinate with other hotel departments to provide a seamless guest experience. This position reports to the Rooms Division Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or high school equivalent required
  • Knowledge in computer programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Proficient knowledge in company policies and procedures
  • Detailed knowledge of internal processes, workflows, and decision-making protocols
  • Proficient knowledge of employee management strategies, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Proficient knowledge of industry regulations and how they affect business operations
  • Skill in assigning tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their strengths
  • Ability to work effectively with different departments to achieve business objectives
  • Skills in managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively, empowering teams while maintaining accountability
  • Ability to handle interpersonal and team conflicts in a constructive manner
  • Ability to handle difficult customer interactions and ensure high levels of satisfaction
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously without sacrificing quality

Nice To Haves

  • College degree in related field preferred
  • 1 year of management experience preferred
  • 3 years of front desk experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and monitor staff
  • Keep track of occupancy and generate reports for management
  • Coach staff on all job duties
  • Work in our system “Alice” to impute maintenance requests
  • Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
  • Provide information about the hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenities
  • Respond to guests’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Select and block rooms for arriving guests, book same day reservations, pre-register guests as required, and sometimes escort guests to their rooms
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy, and fully furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
  • Receive payment from and check out hotel guests
  • Work closely with the guest services agents to coordinate the smooth and efficient handling of guest luggage at both check in and check out
  • Accept reservations, changes, and cancellations
  • Make change, post charges, reconcile daily work, and make deposits
  • Create a schedule for staff
  • Other duties as assigned
