About The Position

The Front Desk Receptionist greets, instructs, directs, and schedules patients and visitors. This individual serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. The role is temporary until November 2026.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED minimum education requirement
  • Minimum of one (1) year’s experience in medical office environment
  • Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of business office procedures & medical terminology

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Check in patients, verify and update demographic and insurance information in eCW.
  • Update the eCW system on patients’ arrival and record referral information.
  • Utilize eCW to enter the copayment and notes to the Business Office.
  • Check out and make appointments for follow-up patients' office schedules.
  • Answer telephone in an amiable and professional manner, screen calls, answer any questions within the area of responsibility, forward calls, or take messages.
  • Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties.
  • Screen visitors and respond to routine requests for information.
  • Collect applicable insurance co-pay information and referrals.
  • Batch out and balance end-of-day payments.
  • Assist other front desk personnel in situations with irate patients.
  • Maintain work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Re-supply front desk for the day.
  • Prepare all work for the next business day in eCW: To include: Linking of referring doctor, referral number, copay and authorization number for Visco Injections, Epi's, etc.
  • Print out all related paperwork for patients’ appointments with the physician.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Work in conjunction with Patient Responsible team to collect past due balances.
  • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
