About The Position

Tails Pet Resort is seeking an experienced Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the primary point of contact for clients and their pets. This role involves managing client interactions, reservations, payments, check-ins/check-outs, and light retail operations, ensuring a smooth and professional lobby experience. The ideal candidate will uphold the resort's values of integrity, accountability, honesty, respect, and innovation while providing a luxury guest experience.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in a receptionist/front desk role with heavy phone and in-person customer service.
  • Proven accuracy with reservations, payments, and basic cash handling/drawer balancing skills.
  • Calm, clear, and friendly communication in fast-moving situations.
  • Tech-savvy and quick to learn new systems.
  • High attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Comfortable working around dogs of all sizes and temperaments.

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary receptionist experience.
  • Pet-care related front desk experience.
  • Prior shift lead/management experience in any field.
  • Timely, organized, presentable, outgoing individuals that can handle situations under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly, provide tours, and establish a professional atmosphere.
  • Answer phones, triage calls, take messages, and return missed calls promptly.
  • Manage reservations accurately in the booking system.
  • Process invoices and payments, balance the cash drawer daily.
  • Execute efficient check-ins and check-outs, verifying client information, vaccination status, belongings, feeding/medication notes, and pickup times.
  • Support other teams (grooming, daycare, lodging, training) with client communication.
  • Upsell services and retail items.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked lobby and retail area.
  • De-escalate and resolve client concerns professionally and empathetically.
  • Coordinate early drop-offs and late pick-ups with relevant teams.
