The Front Desk Receptionist plays a key role in supporting a dynamic, multi‑program environment in Lexington Park, Maryland , with primary support to the MMDL/LAMPS program. This position serves as the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and vendors, delivering a professional and welcoming experience while ensuring adherence to access control and security protocols. The role supports daily front desk operations, including visitor badging, conference room scheduling, and general office coordination. This is a full‑time, on‑site position supporting mission‑focused, government‑aligned programs in a fast‑paced office setting.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship & an active secret security clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience (highly preferred in an office or administrative environment.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a structured office environment that values reliability, consistency, and in‑person collaboration.
  • Experience supporting government‑aligned or security‑focused programs, including roles requiring adherence to established procedures and protocols.
  • Background in administrative, reception, or customer‑facing roles following a career transition or re‑entry into the workforce.
  • Active security clearance or prior experience working in a cleared environment with controlled information.
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools for internal communications and event materials.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary front desk point of contact, providing professional, courteous reception services to visitors, employees, and vendors.
  • Manage visitor processing and badging activities, ensuring compliance with facility access and security procedures.
  • Maintain accurate visitor logs and support general access control activities in coordination with site security and facilities personnel.
  • Coordinate conference room scheduling and meeting logistics, including calendar management and room availability support.
  • Perform general receptionist and administrative support functions, including handling incoming and outgoing mail, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Assist with office operations and logistics, including ordering office supplies, tracking inventory, and maintaining shared office spaces.
  • Support office events and internal communications by creating flyers, newsletters, and digital content using Canva.
  • Design and schedule monthly lobby screen content to enhance the visitor and employee experience.
