We are seeking a Full-Time Front Desk Receptionist for our Gainesville, FL location, operating Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. Requirements

  • High school graduate/GED or formal training from a vocational school.
  • One year of medical experience from a similar setting.
  • Friendly personality with a desire to work with the public.
  • Ability and willingness to treat all patients with kindness and consideration, even in difficult situations.
  • Ability to handle multiple functions simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, move, and/or carry up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to perform focused work with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computers, copiers, fax machines, and phones.
  • Ability to type at least 35 wpm.
  • Ability to interact with others in person, via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  • Ability to relate to patients, with familiarity with medical terminology and triage procedures.
  • Ability to relate to the public regardless of ethnic, religious, and economic status.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people and understand their problems.
  • Must believe in providing healthcare with dignity for all.
  • Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of community-based organizations.
  • Promotes and believes in Elite DNA's mission statement.
  • Strong sensory skills, including visual acuity, good hearing, and dexterity.
  • Ability to stand and sit for periods of time and move constantly throughout the workday.
  • Good speaking and listening skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily receptionist staff operations.
  • Ensure team members greet patients and visitors professionally.
  • Manage incoming telephone calls and relay them to the appropriate staff.
  • Perform various clerical duties in a professional manner.
  • Welcome patients in person or by phone, explaining services, payment categories, and billing procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and direct walk-in patients and emergencies according to established policies.
  • Answer all incoming calls and route them to the appropriate staff.
  • Register patients according to protocols and collect all necessary documentation.
  • Generate and ensure completion of required patient documents.
  • Review and verify patient insurance coverage or other agency coverage, and calculate patient charges.
  • Collect deposits or co-pays/deductibles before patient appointments, following established policies.
  • Inform patients of outstanding balances, collect payments, and issue receipts.
  • Collaborate with Provider and Medical Assistant staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize wait times.
  • Call patients to remind them of appointments.
  • Follow up on 'no show' patients daily.
  • Communicate patient problems or complaints to the clinic manager or designee.
  • Refer patients who missed appointments to the Clinic Managers for follow-up, per policies and procedures.
