About The Position

Charleston GI has been developing since 1989, our practice is the first and largest gastroenterology practice in the lowcountry to operate a physicians’ practice and three nationally certified and state licensed endoscopy centers. Our team includes ten outstanding Board Certified Gastroenterologists, with a combined experience of over 100 years of treating patients. We value the health, service, and satisfaction of our patients above all else. Full-Time Front Desk Coordinator needed for our high volume, fast-paced endoscopy center in Summerville.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of healthcare experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Work independently
  • Manage multiple priorities
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Experience with high patient volume
  • Professional etiquette and ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to exercise tact under pressure
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively contribute as a member of a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Computer literacy-required

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors
  • Registers patients according to established protocols
  • Assists patients with completing all necessary forms and documentation
  • Ensures patient information is accurate in the electronic medical record including billing information
  • Informs patients of the office’s policies and procedures
  • Collects co-pays and payments
  • Ensures the reception area is well-maintained, neat, and clean
  • Facilitates patient flow by notifying the clinical staff of the patient’s arrival, being aware of delays and communicating with patients and clinical staff
  • Answers phone calls with proper phone etiquette and transfers when appropriate
  • Ensures the front desk is adequately stocked with office supplies by anticipating inventory needs, placing orders and monitoring office equipment
  • Scans documents into the patient’s electronic medical record when appropriate
  • Prepares patient packets by printing and affixing name labels
  • Reconciles schedules for the next day
  • Protects patient confidentiality by making sure Protected Health Information is secured
