About The Position

The Front Desk Coordinator will manage front counter operations for the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA). This role involves supervising and training OSFA work-study students, administering the Texas Application for State Financial Aid, and assisting with TEG form processing. The position requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to handle complex administrative tasks, and a strong understanding of financial aid processes within a university setting.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior financial aid or related university work experience.
  • Familiarity with the financial aid application process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with students, parents, staff, the public, and the University community.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities to handle complex administrative details.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage front counter operations, serving students in person, via email, and by phone.
  • Supervise and train OSFA work-study students.
  • Administer the Texas Application for State Financial Aid and Religious Order Waivers.
  • Assist students with financial aid application processes.
  • Oversee the operation of services to students at the front counter.
  • Verify financial aid applications for completeness and accuracy of enrollment status and academic progress.
  • Refer students to appropriate professional staff members.
  • Manage the traffic flow of students visiting the office.
  • Create, coordinate, and update all financial aid forms annually.
  • Maintain adequate levels of office supplies and forms.
  • Ensure equipment (copier/printer) is working and request service as necessary.
  • Counsel students and their families regarding financial aid eligibility, available assistance programs, and their rights and responsibilities.
  • Assist with distributing information on various financial aid programs.
  • Conduct financial aid presentations on campus and in the community.
