About The Position

The Front Desk Clerk provides critical administrative and customer service support to the Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) at Peterson SFB. This position serves as the primary customer interface for walk‑ins, callers, and clients seeking information, transition services, and M&FRC program support. Responsibilities include reception, scheduling, data entry, client assistance, and maintenance of resource areas and program databases. The primary duty location is Bldg. 350, Dover St., Suite 1203, Peterson SFB, CO 80914. In the event of building closure (inclement weather, pass days, etc.), duties will be accomplished via telework from an alternate location of the contractor’s choosing. Contractor is responsible for safeguarding and maintaining all government-issued items required for on-site and telework operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in administrative support, customer service, or related functional areas.
  • Strong working knowledge of data entry devices and electronic data input processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of AFFIRST, MS Word, MS Excel, and other MS Office Suite products.
  • Familiarity with standard customer service and business practices.
  • Ability to rely on professional experience and judgment to accomplish PWS requirements.
  • Ability to receive task direction and training from government personnel, while remaining under supervisory authority of the Prime Contractor.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with military personnel, families, government staff, and contractors.
  • Ability to lift or move lightweight items associated with loan locker operations.
  • Must be able to meet all background investigation requirements for access to Peterson SFB.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within Military & Family Readiness Centers or similar military support programs.
  • Familiarity with DoD TAP and other military readiness systems.
  • Previous experience supporting TAP activities or military transition programs.
  • Knowledge of Air Force or DoD administrative procedures and terminology.
  • Experience working directly with service members, veterans, and military families.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess client needs and make appropriate referrals.
  • Experience with government data management or reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for visitors and callers to the M&FRC.
  • Ascertain client needs and ensure proper referral to M&FRC staff or external service organizations.
  • Provide accurate class scheduling and deliver routine procedural guidance to clients.
  • Input TAP-related data into AFFIRST and DoDTAP, including scheduling Pre-Separation, TAP GPS, ETAP, VA Briefings, Education Track, Technical & Skills Track, Boots to Business, and Capstone events within five business days of completion.
  • Enter personnel forms into AFFIRST, including DD Form 2648, Statements of Understanding, Personal Readiness Inventories, Pre-Separation/Transition Counseling documents, and Career Readiness Standards data.
  • Manage loan locker checkout and return processes, ensuring accountability and safeguarding of all materials.
  • Maintain the Discovery Resource Center by organizing materials, aligning workstations, and ensuring office equipment remains functional; report equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain accuracy of AFFIRST data and update service organization information for appropriate referrals.
  • Assess client inquiries related to various family issues and connect them with appropriate resources using a working knowledge of all M&FRC programs.
  • Receive telephone calls, greet visitors, identify client needs, and direct clients to the appropriate M&FRC program manager.
  • Schedule clients for M&FRC classes and provide complete, clear information on routine or procedural matters.
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties, including data entry into Peterson SFB M&FRC Transition Assistance Program (TAP) systems and assisting clients with software use.
  • Input and maintain current data in AFFIRST, DoDTAP, and other authorized web-based applications.
