About The Position

This placement opportunity offers a comprehensive training program across various departments within the hospitality industry, focusing on front desk operations and guest services. The program includes an initial orientation to the company and local community, followed by hands-on experience in key roles such as Guest Service Agent, Concierge, and Front Desk Supervisor. The goal is to provide participants with a well-rounded understanding of hotel operations and to develop skills in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR a hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA).
  • Consistent career growth over the last years.

Responsibilities

  • Receive an orientation to the company and the local community, including learning about company customers, culture, business strategies, payroll schedules, and local resources.
  • Receive computer training on company systems.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for guests, creating a welcoming and memorable experience from arrival through departure.
  • Greet guests warmly and professionally, efficiently process check-ins and check-outs, assign rooms, verify payment methods, and handle guest billing.
  • Make, modify, and confirm reservations, answer phone calls, respond to guest inquiries, and provide information regarding hotel amenities, services, local attractions, and dining options.
  • Maintain a professional work environment, follow all safety and security procedures, support sustainability initiatives, and uphold hotel standards of excellence.
  • Create exceptional and memorable experiences for guests by providing personalized service, expert local recommendations, and assistance with special requests.
  • Serve as a trusted resource, anticipate guest needs, and coordinate travel arrangements, dining reservations, event tickets, and other services.
  • Share knowledge of local attractions, entertainment, and dining options while assisting with luggage, mail delivery, errands, and unique guest requests.
  • Lead and support front office operations to ensure exceptional guest service, efficient hotel operations, and a welcoming environment.
  • Supervise and coach front desk associates, resolve guest concerns, oversee daily front office activities, and support the Front Office Manager.
  • Promote service excellence, maintain operational accuracy, manage reservations and guest accounts, and foster positive guest relationships.
