About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Membership Associate, the Front Desk Associate will help create a fun and positive welcoming environment for all those who come to the JCC. The Front Desk Associate will present an appearance and an image consistent with the Schenectady JCC culture and expectations. Must possess mature judgment and sound decision-making.

Requirements

  • Reliable, professional, energetic, and friendly.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Computer literate - must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to give clear direction.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to enter information accurately into different systems.
  • Ability to explain upcoming or current programs to members and community members.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all members, prospective members, program participants and vendors.
  • Monitor entrance through lobby doors.
  • Process member account information using the DAXKO Operating System, including payments and program registration.
  • Process new memberships including making photo ID badges and orienting members to use of facilities.
  • Answer all incoming calls, assist caller with questions they may have and/or routing those calls to appropriate recipients.
  • Keep track of current and upcoming events.
  • Become knowledgeable of all programs and services the SJCC offers for all departments.
  • Assist parents at afternoon/evening pick up for the after school program using walkie when necessary.
  • General office tasks which may include copying and filing.
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.
