About The Position

The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • One (1) year of customer service experience required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Preferred knowledge Windows, MSOffice and keyboard skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework and customer service training preferred.
  • One (1) year of customer service experience in a higher education environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Requires comprehensive knowledge of college services, programs, and resources to deliver exceptional customer service to a diverse population.
  • Assists with day-to-day center operations in the absence of the Department Administrative Assistant and Supervisor.
  • Establish a welcoming atmosphere by greeting people in a friendly, caring manner.
  • Assist students, community members, faculty and staff with their questions and concerns, both in-person and over the telephone.
  • Provide registration assistance in person, telephone, and the internet.
  • Schedule advising appointments using college software program and make reminder calls to students.
  • Provide emergency assistance and become familiar with safety procedures according to policies.
  • Open and close center and learn Secure building before closing which includes closing all windows, opening blinds and locking all internal and external doors, including activating security alarms.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, instructors and community patrons regarding pertinent center information.
  • Provide referrals to other College of DuPage services and individuals.
  • Access course information and student enrollment
  • Maintain appearance of the center, including updating information on flyers, and college catalogs. supplying.
  • Other duties as assigned.
